GEN4OLIVE EU

The overall objective of the GEN4OLIVE project is to accelerate the mobilization of olive genetic resources and promote pre-breeding activities through a multidisciplinary approach, achieving:

  • Develop intuitive tools to leverage information collected through a smart and user-friendly interface that will implement big data and machine learning utilities.
  • Involve SMEs through specific calls and financial support.
Gen4olive-sci-olive

In the technical scope, SCI Olive’s specific goal within Gen4olive is to evaluate the company’s genotypes, analyze their most significant characteristics, and study the heritability of those traits. Additionally, as an integral part of the project, it will be responsible for disseminating the results.

Furthermore, SCI Olive will seek to establish partnerships with the leading olive germplasm banks worldwide, aiming to forge future collaborations in their genetic improvement projects.
